The Missionary Servants of the Celebration of the Centenary of the Most Holy Trinity

A century of preserving the faith and serving the needy

SILVER SPRING, Md. — More than 100 years ago, Father Thomas Augustine Judge, a Vincentian priest, traveled to Alabama with a small group of lay people to establish mission parishes in communities often unwelcoming to Catholics. . Eventually, Fr. Justice (who is currently considered for canonization as a saint of the Church) was instrumental in founding a religious order of nuns among those who had followed him south, called the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity.

Two years later, in 1921, Fr. is “Every Catholic is an apostle”.

To mark the centenary of the Missions of the Trinity, A Centennial Commemoration Mass will be held at our former Holy Trinity Mission Seminary in Silver Spring, Maryland on March 19, 2022, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Most Reverend Michael K. Barth, ST, Custodian General of the Congregation, is pleased to announce that His Excellency Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, will celebrate with Fr. Domingo Rodríguez, ST, as homilist. The public is invited to join in the celebration with a reception, presentation and art exhibition showcasing the work of Fr. Richard McCann, ST, after Mass to give thanks for the past century of service and in anticipation of the future continued ministry of order to uplift the poor and abandoned.

The charism of the congregation is to preserve the faith, empower the laity, and bring God’s hope, comfort, and relief to the poor, abandoned, and most neglected. Trinity mission priests and brothers work in dioceses and mission parishes in the heart of economically depressed areas, on Native American reservations, in tropical rainforests and in isolated towns in the Deep South, bringing hope, comfort and relief to the suffering of those who need it most. .

Our missionaries serve the poor and abandoned in 37 missions here in the United States as well as in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Honduras and Haiti. To find out more visit, www.trinitymissions.org.
