The College of the Holy Cross calls on Daktronics for the video card, LED needs

The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA once again turned to Daktronics for LED video screens inside the Hart Center. A total of nine new LED screens will be installed this fall, including three end wall LED video screens, four LED tape screens, four field-side LED marker tables and four fixed number scoreboards at Hart Center Arena.

Daktronics installed more video cards at the College of the Holy Cross.

“Creating a dynamic playing atmosphere for our student-athletes and our fans is a top priority for us,” says College of the Holy Cross Sports Director Marcus Blossom. “This new technology, which is part of several enhancements to the match experience, will also provide support for new and improved campus programming and other event opportunities within the Luth Sports Complex. I am excited to see our entire community experimenting with these additions as they return to campus to support our student-athletes in person. “

At the east end of the arena, a main video screen will measure approximately 8 feet high by 38 feet wide. At the west end, two video screens will each measure 8 feet high by 15 feet wide. Along the fascia of the seats, four tape displays will each measure 2.5 feet high by 16.5 feet long. All of these screens will feature 5.9-millimeter pixel spacing to deliver crisp, clear images to fans in every seat.

At court level, marker tables with four LED panels will be delivered. Each will be approximately 2 feet tall by 9 feet wide and feature 6mm pixel spacing to provide additional content and information in conjunction with the main displays.

To support hockey games and other events, Hart Center Rink will receive two wall mounted video screens and two fixed number scoreboards. Video screens will be approximately 10 feet high by 18 feet wide and have a pixel pitch of 5.9 millimeters. One will be installed at the north end and the other will be installed at the south end to provide a full viewing experience for everyone in the rink.

“Following the successful installation of the Fitton Field video display on campus, Daktronics is proud to provide color display systems for the Hart Center Arena and Hart Center Rink at the Lute Athletic Complex,” said Peter Dunkle, Daktronics sales representative. “The fan experience at these venues will be amplified with new displays at both ends of the gymnasium floor and at both ends of the rink. An integrated central control system will allow Sainte-Croix’s presentation team to seamlessly present content in both facilities simultaneously. We are grateful to work with the wonderful team at Holy Cross as they continue to provide their students, faculty and alumni with a great eventful atmosphere for years to come.

The end wall video screens being installed are capable of variable content zoning allowing each to display a large image to be split into multiple zones to display any combination of live video, reruns last minute snapshots, statistics, graphics and animations, and referral messages.

Fixed-digit scoreboards provide consistent information about basketball and hockey games including score, time remaining, period or quarter, and other critical stats that help fans keep track of the game.

The Crusaders will also receive a content package to accompany the installation. This content will be created and provided by Daktronics Creative Services.
