Softball is at home against Furman and Holy Cross

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – The third-ranked Florida State softball team (19-1) continues its home stretch with a pair of midweek games against Furman (9-9) on Tuesday, March 8 at 6 p.m. and against Holy Cross (2-7) Wednesday. March 9 at 6 p.m. Both games will be on ACCNX.

Florida State is 12-1 against Furman. The last time the two teams met was in 2017 at the Unconquered Invitational. FSU won 5-1 and 9-1. This will be the second meeting between FSU and Holy Cross. The first meeting was in 2020 when FSU won 8-0 in six innings.

In 20 games, the Seminole pitching team of Kathryn Sandercock (10-0), Danielle Watson (7-1), Emma Wilson (1-0), Brianna Enter (1-0) and Mack Leonard (0-0) combined to go 19-1 with a 1.36 ERA.

Watson has 55 strikeouts in 45 innings of work, while Sandercock has a record 54 strikeouts in 57.1 innings, allowing just nine earned runs. Combined, FSU pitchers have 136 strikeouts in 129 innings while allowing the opposition to hit just .174. Florida State is currently ranked 10th in the nation in ERA with a 1.36 rating.

Florida State continues to be on base and ranks ninth in the nation with a .433 on-base percentage. The Noles also rank 19and batting average (.332). This allowed FSU to rank 20and in the country in scoring, tackling 6.8 points per game.
