Satellite 3, Titusville 1

SATELLITE BEACH — After falling behind Titusville, Satellite scored three unanswered goals to win the District Championship 8-4A 3-1.

The Terriers struck first in the 38th minute when Riley Jaszczak scored to give them a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, both teams played fast and physically. Titusville (8-8) played to hold on to their lead, while Satellite (10-4-2) battled to tie the game.

“There was definitely some nervousness in the first half, but coming back in the second we knew we had to forget about it and come back stronger,” said Satellite striker Morgan Gamin.

Satellite tied the game with 14 minutes left in the game when Maddie Reeder scored from deep.

Seven minutes later, Andria Fuentes put the Scorpions ahead 2-1 after scoring a goal.

Gamin sealed the victory with a goal in the last six minutes of the game.

“We knew we were going to have a tough opponent with the arrival of Titusville,” said Satellite head coach Ryan Weldon.

Although he thinks the team will have to focus on fixing a few things going forward, Weldon said he liked the way they fought back.

“I liked that they kept fighting,” he said. “They came out at half-time and knew they were down, but they managed to fight back.”
