Calling all Boilermakers and Crawfish Lovers! Université Sainte-Croix (UHC) has announced that an all-new, one-day Crawfish Boil Cook-off will take place at the school’s Algiers campus on Saturday, April 2, from noon to 4 p.m.
The inaugural mudbug cook-off contest is open to all Southeast Louisiana teams who wish to participate. Team registration is $50 and includes five entry wristbands for the team. Admission does not include boiled crayfish.
Officials say the new Crawfish Boil Cook-off was created to accommodate members of the New Orleans community at UHC’s Algiers campus. The Crawfish Contest is open to the public to try crawfish, corn, potatoes, sausages and more from all the competing teams, and admission is $20 prepaid and $25 at the door . Teams will be judged on criteria such as best crawfish, best corn, best potato and best sausage. Winners will be announced in these categories. Teams wishing to compete can register at bit.ly/crawfishcookoff22. Prizes include a crawfish paddle and bragging rights!

The Crawfish Boil Cook-off officially begins at noon on Saturday, April 2, and the celebration continues until 4 p.m.
