Eagles retain Irving-Christensen Cup, sweep UConn and Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Boston College rowing team swept its races against Holy Cross and UConn on Sunday morning on Quinsigamond Lake, with the top varsity boat also retaining the Irving-Christensen Cup.

The first varsity eight started the morning rowing for a win over visiting crews from UConn and Holy Cross. In the second race of the morning, the Eagles 2V8 won by more than 30 seconds. The V4 and 2V4 took first and second place in their heat, before the 3V8 and 4V8 did the same in the final race of the morning.

It was the fourth straight meeting between these three schools that saw BC sweep all races and 1V8 retain the Irving-Christensen Cup.
