The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Genevieve held a Lenten retreat February 26 at the Falls City Diner. After registration, participants had lunch and recited several dozen Holy Rosaries. Reverend John Klak, former pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, was the guest speaker.

Reverend John spoke about the document “The Mystery of the Eucharist in the Life of the Church,” published by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. He also answered questions from an audience of about 70 people, made up of both men and women.

The retreat ended with Reverend John promising to return for next year’s retreat and praying the rest of the Holy Rosary. All present then enjoyed a delicious lunch, served by the Catholic Daughters.

Many participants decided to extend the retreat by joining a book club. The groups will read The 7 secrets of the Eucharist during the seven weeks of Lent.
