Holy Trinity wins OFSAA crown in Owen Sound
Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Courtice defeated Governor Simcoe High School in St. Catharine 11-9 Tuesday afternoon at the Kiwanis Soccer Complex in Owen Sound to win gold in the Boys Field Lacrosse Festival A /AA of the OFSAA. Holy Trinity beat Holy Cross 12-10 earlier in the day to earn a place in the final. The host St. Mary’s Mustangs finished sixth out of 12 teams.

Walkerton to Host OFSAA Soccer Tournament
The Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Men’s A/AA Soccer Championship begins Thursday in Walkerton. Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton is hosting the 16-team event. Bishop Macdonell Catholic High School is the other CWOSSA representative. Games must be played at Sacred Heart and Walkerton District Community School. The three-day tournament culminates with the championship game scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Walkerton District Community School.

Gray Highlands head to OFSAA consolation game
The Gray Highland Lions beat Twin Lakes 19-5 in Tuesday’s consolation semi-final at the OFSAA Women’s A/AA Rugby Championship in Cobourg. The Lions will face FE Madill in the consolation game on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. The Lions split a pair of games on Monday. In their first tournament, Gray Highlands edged Eastdale 27-5 but then fell to La Salle 21-5 later in the day to finish second in Pool D and advance to the consolation semi-finals.

Rugby club looking for adult players
The Owen Sound Rugby Club is looking to recruit new players for its men’s team playing in the Niagara Rugby Union. The club played their first match recently and came away with a 27-19 win over Waterloo. His first home game is this Saturday afternoon at Victoria Field, scheduled for 2 p.m. The OSRC trains every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at East Ridge in Owen Sound.
