Summer festival of the Parish of the Triumph of the Holy Cross

Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish kicks off its summer festival on July 28 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and runs through July 31. Summer Fest is a fun event for the whole family with a variety of live music, rides and entertainment, delicious food, pastries and more. “There is something for everyone,” said Gary Burcin, chairman of the festival committee. “Games and rides are provided by LAM Amusements, raffles, bingo, homemade donuts, gambling and a great adult auction. It is always a wonderful event for the whole community.

Each evening, special entertainment and dinner menus are offered.

July 30: Les Belairs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Skyjump and Super Bingo raffle. The special dinner is the annual fish fry festival.

July 31: The Wurms from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dinner special is barbecued pulled pork.

Holiday Bible School

Greenock United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township will host a new concept of vacation bible school designed for age groups on certain days with the circus theme “Faith Big and Bold and Courageous”.

Class sizes will be limited.

Campers will start their day at 9:30 am and finish at noon.

• The 3 and 4 year olds will meet on August 9th.

• Students completing Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2 will meet August 10-11.

• Students who have completed Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will enjoy the activities August 12-13.

• A family evening with frozen treats will be held outdoors for all campers accompanied by their parents and / or guardians starting at 6:30 pm on August 13.

Management aims to provide a safe, fun and healthy environment in accordance with the CDC’s current guidelines for the coronavirus.
